Continental Engineering Services (CES) is a subsidiary of Continental AG. With more than 1,500 engineers and specialists, we design and manufacture complex high technology mechatronic products and systems for small series and niche applications at 15 locations around the world. Depending on our customer needs, we can either develop bespoke products from initial concepts, or we have the unique opportunity to access and modify the proven large-scale production technology of Continental AG for individual solutions. Manufacturers of sports cars and special-purpose vehicles as well as a variety of industrial customers are among those who benefit from our services. We work in the areas of Chassis & Safety Control, Interior Electronic Functions, Vehicle Electrification, and Engine & Transmission Management.

PRINCIPAL MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER: HYBRID AND ELECTRIC VEHICLES
(Porto / Braga)

Reporting to the Line Manager, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proven capability and experience in mechanical design. The work will involve designing various automotive systems along with associated tooling and test equipment.

Job Description:

· Use of 3D CAD & PLM (Creo4 / Windchill) to produce models, assemblies & 2D drawings;

· Finite-element analysis (Creo Simulate);

· Completion of engineering calculations;

· Support of FMEA activities;

· Project and workload planning;

· Creation and management of assembly bills of material;

· Support of manufacturing & assembly departments;

· Presentation of design concepts and technical analyses both internally and to external clients;

· Preparation of test plans & analysis of results;

· Support of design validation activities;

· Maintenance of internal design standards;

· Support of business acquisition

Job Requirements:

· Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering;

· Excellent 3D modelling & drawing skills, Creo / Pro/E is desirable but not essential.

· Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicle systems, interior systems, and chassis and safety control systems;

· A good knowledge of engineering manufacturing standards and processes for both prototypes and low/medium volume production;

· Strong written & verbal communication skills;

· Proficiency with standard office tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project etc);

· High levels of motivation & a flexible approach in terms of working hours;

· Fluent English language skills;

·Willingness to travel worldwide
