LEAD CONTROL ENGINEER: POWER ELECTRONICS AND DRIVES (Porto / Braga) The lead control engineer role is to conceptualise and design control and system solutions to meet the requirements of the projects for CES Driveline and Electrification group. The lead control engineer is required to develop and test control algorithms and system solutions for automotive qualified high-voltage power electronic converters and electrical motor drives for electrical and hybrid-electrical vehicles. You will then work closely with other engineering disciplines to design and develop appropriate control and system solutions within the time and cost budgets of the project. Job Description: · Capture and interpretation of control and system requirements. · Develop novel control systems solutions for power converters and electrical motors to real world problems. · Identification and feature improvements for product and control system performance optimization. · Modelling of power system/powertrain components and development of control algorithms using Matlab/Simulink. · Code generation of control system algorithms for automotive applications. · Testing and calibration of power electronic converters and motor drives. · Fully document the design and verification process of developed systems, · Understand and comply with company and customer confidentiality agreements and maintain the security of company and customer property. Job Requirements: · Degree-qualified in a relevant science or engineering disciplines · In-depth practical understanding of classical control theory, both in analogue and digital domains. · Good appreciation of modern digital control theory, algorithms, techniques and practical limitations. · Observer-based control design and filtering techniques. · Control of non-linear systems. · Experience of modelling and control of high-voltage electrical powertrain components in Matlab/Simulink.
