Corporate Team Lead Technical development (ABAP) - Permanent

We are looking to hire a Corporate Team Lead Technical development (ABAP) for our Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Lisbon, Portugal. The Finance Systems (FS) covers standard SAP applications from a business implementation and build point of view (Handling of new implementations, new requirements, and application support during hyper care phases). The Finance Systems TL Technical Development will work closely together with the other areas / teams within the Finance System Department to delivering solutions in our ERP system landscape.

The main modules under the responsibility of Finance Systems are:

• SAP ERP FI / New GL / AA / CO / EC-PCA (Finance, Asset Accounting, Controlling, Profit Center Accounting),Treasury, In House Cash FSCM
• SAP TM (Credit Management, Forwarding, Freight agreements, Master Data, Settlement Documents, FI, CO topics, interface to SAP ERP)
• SAP ACR (Corporate Address Server)
• SAP SD / MM (Sales & Distribution, Material Management Procurement)
• SAP Solution Manager (Template Management, Solution Implementation and Change Requests)
• SAP custom-made Workflow for incoming invoices.



Furthermore the following PA applications are covered from a business application point of view:

• IDS (Invoice Documentation System)
• X-Rates (Tool for foreign currencies and exchange rates)
• BW for reporting, extractions, Month End closing, Profit Share



(2) General Task:

Manage and supervise a global team of technical developers
Responsible for resource and skill planning within the Development team
Manage the teams overall resource capacity, resource utilization and skills development to support the future development needs
Provide development services in the areas of customizing, programming, etc that support problem management, enhancements and projects to the PGS delivery organization.
Provide a development service in the most efficient and cost effective manner while providing capabilities to match changing demand.
Accountable for the developments performed for systems and projects assigned to the team in one or more for the following areas:
(a) Software development in the areas of technical development (mainly but not restricted to) ABAP, authorizations, and EAI
(b) Software configuration
(c) Technical Specification and Design
(d) Unit Testing
(e) System Enhancements
(f) Technical Project Management and execution

- Management of the Development Service Providers
- Support the Solution Managers and Solution Architects in driving new or changed solutions that provide business value
- Define the design and definition of development standards and ensure that all development is performed in accordance with those (Panalpina) standards
- To manage a service that evaluates requirements and proposed solutions and provides detailed estimates of time, resources and costs
- Assures that all development activity is completed in compliance with all standards and policies
- Drive the development activities in accordance with agreed upon milestones, costs and quality.
- Act as management escalation point for any service incident or problem
Developing, testing and documenting new SAP ERP solutions based on the functional specifications of the FS Application colleagues
- Change existing SAP ERP solutions based on approved GAPs/Change requests, including detailed documentation
- Support business in testing solutions
- Assisting support organizations for incidents in SAP ERP legacy systems;


(3) Specific task:
- Perform technical analyses, code reviews, of ABAP developments in small enhancements as well in larger projects.
- Ensure compliance to existing and development of required data and reporting standards
- Perform bug fix analyses, recommend and implement solutions
- Write and validate technical specifications, and create test scripts
- Support implementations by sharing best practice development skills
- Support of finance related changes in interfaces with operational applications (e.g. AirWarder, CASS solution, SAP TM, FOS, L-Base)


(4) Academic Background / Work Experience:
- Business degree with special fields finance and controlling or Business Informatics;
- At least 10 years of SAP ABAP development experience and 4 years of SAP (FICO) implementations
- Minimum of 4 years in Change Management / Incident management experiences as ABAP Developer


(5) Required Knowledge:
- Expert in of ABAP (OOPS); Dialog & Interface Programming, BAPI, RFC, BDC, Workflow
- Know-how in the area of SAPScript, XML, ALE, IDocs , SAP FI / CO / PCA /AA / SD / MM
- Understanding of PA strategy and products
- Understanding of business principles and language, mainly the fundamentals of finance and profitability
- Overall understanding of business processes and interdependencies
- Knowledge of finance business processes
- Knowledge and experience with documentation standards such as blueprints, functional and technical specifications, test scripting and protocols as well as training material.
- Experience with SAP Solution Manager (Solution Implementation, Roadmap and Test Management).
- Overall knowledge in freight forwarding and logistics
Willingness to travel

(7) Languages:
- Fluently in English (written and spoken),
- Other European languages (French and/or German) are a benefit.
