We’re looking for a passionate and energetic Senior Software Engineer that is ready to develop their existing skills by working alongside a creative and dynamic Applications development team on a range of ambitious and innovative projects. Main Responsibilities: Develop robust and scalable web applications for high traffic products Develop customer facing features for high traffic applications Work across different areas of the software stack Contribute clean, secure and maintainable code to the product Contribute to the evolution of the overall product/system architecture Optimising code for performance and scalability Estimating projects, working closely with technical and business teams at each stage of the development lifecycle Mentor members of the team to enhance and share knowledge Provide guidance, feedback and input on the product roadmap and technical strategy Liaise with internal teams - Development, Systems, Product and QA to ensure strong execution and implementation Experience and Skills: 7+ years object-oriented PHP and web development experience (PHP, MySQL, APIs) Previous managerial experience Full stack development expertise Desire to establish and improve development processes Experience in conducting code reviews Strong understanding of most popular design patterns (MVC, SOLID, Dependency injection) Proficient in all web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Ajax) Experience in developing with PHP templating engines (Twig, Smarty) Experience working in an agile environment and with techniques like Continuous Integration Experience in developing websites and web applications for multiple device types Excellent understanding and developing web application security best practices Strong experience developing and integrating with APIs Experience in MySQL 5.5+ Understanding of code documentation practices and tools Ability to quickly learn, understand, test and debug existing codebases Strong analytical and problem-solving skill set Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar Experience with version control systems e.g. GIT/Mercurial Proficient in both spoken and written English Personal Qualities: A friendly, positive and enthusiastic person who can work as part of a diverse team Adaptable and hard working Self-starter Positive and always approachable Willing to take on a new intellectual challenge with a positive attitude Able to prioritise and meet deadlines Team player Thrives in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment Nice to Have’s: Experience working in a high traffic environment is a plus, as well as knowledge on caching tools (Memcache, Redis, Varnish, Nginx) Experience with phpStorm Experience with any other language (Java, Python, C++) Applicable certifications (PHP, MySQL, etc.) Experience with testing tools (phpunit, behat, phpspec) and methodologies like TDD and BDD Experience with profiling tools (xdebug, webgrind, xhprof) Experience working with remote locations Please apply here: https://goo.gl/QYPrZz |
