The Quality Assurance Engineer reviews and performs quality assurance and functionality testing of all aspects for Becker Professional Education product releases with an emphasis on software testing. Essential duties and responsibilities: Reviews and performs the internal testing for all BPE course software; ensures compatibility of course software with supported operating systems and proper operation of all features and functionality. Reviews and performs quality assurance and functionality testing for all multimedia lectures, simulations, software including delivery via the web, desktop and mobile course platforms. Performs various testing levels including functional, system, integration, compatibility, regression and multiple test iterations on new or revised courseware. Reports, tracks, and documents errors and other issues in JIRA defect tracking tool, including screen captures and details about the error, such as how it was found, a way to replicate it, and possible solutions to the error. Collaborate with system support team and software development team to investigate, reproduce and track reported defects and document them in the defect-tracking tool. Attends and participates in project team meetings including daily stand-up meetings, requirement reviews, use case reviews and bug scrub reviews. Completes other projects and duties as assigned including writing test cases using Zephyr, testing execution of manual and automated scripts, supporting releases, communicate with software development and product development teams to troubleshoot system and content defects. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelors degree with computer science major preferred and at least two years of software testing experience. Experience operating in a team environment is required. Ability to manage time and multiple concurrent projects effectively is required. Must be able to participate in requirement and documentation review. Experience in testing applications on Windows, Mac OS, Android and iOS major preferred. Experience in testing Native mobile applications. Understanding of web technologies and testing of back end web services. 1 2 years overall experience with writing test plans, designing test cases, and executing test scripts. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat is required. Ability to learn other software tools on the job including Confluence, JIRA and Quality Center. Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills are required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
